Save the bed for bedtime
Keep work and/or hang-out time off the mattress. It'll be easier to wind down if you only associate your bed with sleep.
Your sleep cycle has a lot to do with light exposure, so spend at least 30 minutes a day outside so at night your body is better equipped to shut down.
Turn off the screens
Screen lights at night can disrupt our brain's prep for sleep. Do your body a favor and turn off or dim the lights on your electronics an hour or so before bedtime.
