Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee Celebrates Employee Milestones
Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee honored the dedication and service of its employees during its annual anniversary celebration on Friday, December 13th. Held at the company’s headquarters in Columbia, Tennessee, the event recognized employees who have reached significant career milestones, with tenures ranging from five to 40 years.
The celebration featured heartfelt speeches, commemorative awards, and a video of employees and retirees sharing fond memories with colleagues and friends.
Back in October, there was also an anniversary celebration for the employees in the Claims Department who have reached major career milestones.
Among the honorees was Dee Dee Blackburn, whose career at Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee has spanned 35 years. A 1989 graduate of Columbia Central High School, Blackburn joined the company at 17, balancing the responsibilities of being a newlywed and a young mother.
“Starting at Farm Bureau Insurance was the best decision I ever made,” Blackburn shared. “I needed stability and benefits for my family, and my dad encouraged me to take the job. Looking back, I’m so grateful I listened. This company has given me not only a career but a community and a sense of purpose.”
Blackburn’s career journey has taken her from the Property Department to her current role in Sales. She has also held roles as an underwriter, executive assistant, and co-chair of the Fleet Committee, all while supporting Marketing and Training teams and managing key projects.
Other honorees included Christy Casteel, who marked her 30th anniversary with the company alongside her colleague Bettina Bookhamer. The two, who work together in the Greeneville West Regional Claims Center, have been dedicated partners in service for nearly three decades.
“Bettina has been my sidekick for almost 31 years. She’s not just a co-worker but a sister in every sense,” Casteel said. “I’m truly blessed to work alongside someone who is not only an incredible teammate but also a lifelong friend.”
“This company has been built on the loyalty and hard work of our employees,” said Jeff Pannell, chief executive officer of Farm Bureau Insurance of Tennessee. “We’re proud to celebrate these milestones and the people who make our mission of serving Tennessee families possible.”
