Becoming a driver is a crucial time in a teenager's life, so conversations about safety are important before they take off behind the wheel. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, car accidents are the leading cause of death for teens between the age of 15 and 18 in the US.

Because a teen's first miles behind the wheel are considered the most dangerous and high risk, their insurance premiums reflect it. This is why we provide the Farm Bureau Insurance First Mile program: to encourage safe driving habits in teens and help you save on auto insurance.

The First Mile program is a brief video, followed by a short quiz that helps prepare 16- and 17-year-olds drivers for the responsibilities of being behind the wheel. Teens who watch the video and pass the quiz can save their parents as much as 10% on auto insurance.

To start the First Mile program, visit www.fbitn.com/first-mile and schedule a meeting with your Farm Bureau Insurance agent.
