About changes in our roof coverage PDF Print E-mail

Farm Bureau Insurance homeowner policies are undergoing a significant change. As policies renew over the next year, homeowners will notice that roof coverage now includes 100 percent of labor and from 25 to 100 percent of the roofing material, depending on the age of the roof.

Previously roof coverage included all roofing material regardless of its age. But the fact is that roofing materials are like cars. They have a life span, and as they age, their value is used up. A car that was worth $20,000 five years ago might be worth $4,000 today. If that car is destroyed, the owner gets a check for the current value, not the cost of a new car.

The change in roof coverage is part of Farm Bureau Insurance’s ongoing effort to remain an industry leader in affordable pricing while still giving policyholders quality insurance coverage.

As always, your Farm Bureau Insurance agent is available to discuss your homeowner coverages.
